If you'd like to help out at one of the dances, contact our Volunteer Coordinators, Dan and Jenni Barrett, to sign up. Volunteers work for one hour during the dance and get in for free. Please sign up in advance to be sure a space is open for you.
SET-UP: 6 to 7 pm - help set up the tables & chairs, decorate, and get the facility ready for the dance. Might include helping the DJ set up. (Jenni or Dan will assign specific duties as volunteers arrive.)
BREAK DOWN: Usually 11:15 to 12AM - help put tables, chairs & decorations away and do minor clean up.
SIGN-IN: 6-7, 7-8, 8-9, and 9-10 pm - Work at the sign-in table for 1-hour -- greeting guests, accepting donations, signing people in, and making nametags. This is a good way to get your feet wet if you're shy about being at the dance. You'll meet a lot of people this way and feel less like a stranger when your shift is over. We usually work in teams of two at the sign-in table, and we always assign newcomers to work with an experienced volunteer who knows the answers to any questions that might come up.
